All the talk (including my own) about how I will NEVER rent Logic Pro on the Mac has got me thinking… what would change my mind? So I’ve come up with a simple game plan for Apple to follow. If they do these steps, I (and many other people) might be convinced to start renting Logic Pro. Ready?
- Each month, give us a new Drummer with a new drumset.
- Each month, give us new synth patches from great programmers.
- Each month, give us a new synth. One month could be a DX7 clone, then a MiniMoog clone, Jupiter 8 clone, etc.
- Each month, send out a famous song in Logic Pro format for users to learn from and do their own mixes.
- Each month, send us a new guitar amp model and pedal that are the same quality as Helix
- Every other month, give us new loops.
- Four times a year, give us a great new feature (better pitch correction, etc)
- Once a year, do a major update which adds multiple new great features.
- Once a year, surprise us with some new feature that I can’t think of for this list.
- For each year you subscribe, give us a $100 coupon off our next Mac or iPad
Do all of that and I’m in. Heck, do HALF of that and I’ll consider it. But just give me minor updates once per year and make me rent Logic Pro, and not only will I boycott Logic Pro, but I might even leave the platform. After all, I can run Cubase or Reaper on Windows.
